Here is a thought I have not heard about Rosa Parks. i.e. her peaceful resistance resembled the peaceful mission of the apostles from the Bible. The church could use more agents who peacefully take stands for God though the world is against it.

Reggie White-Preacher/NFL Player

In today's post, RHEMA takes time to celebrate a great preacher - Reggie White, who went home to be with the God on yesterday.
The world knew him as a great football player and he was recognized as one of the greatest. Yet, to read in one of the articles posted on RHEMA site today that this great football player did the following excerpt from the article in the Philadelphia Inquirer (http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/nation/10505208.htm?1c) :
"But perhaps equally notable was White's very public Christianity. He made it a part of his game, rushing opponents with a shout of "Jesus is coming!" He knelt for postgame prayers on the field. He refused awards such as "player of the week" because many were sponsored by breweries and he disapproved of alcohol. He counseled fellow players and cofounded Christian Athletes United for Spiritual Empowerment.
"What made Reggie White effective on the field and off the field was his relationship with God and his willingness to express it openly and to live it openly every day," said former Mayor Wilson Goode, who knew White during his Eagles days. "He should be remembered as a man of God who was an outstanding football player and an outstanding servant to humankind."
Off the field, White used his football celebrity and earnings to advance his Christianity and once noted that "celebrity is nothing but a platform." During his Eagles days, he often traveled to North Philadelphia, where he preached clean living and God-loving.
"Reggie was perhaps the purest preacher that I've ever met," Lusk said. "When he walked in, people would see this big guy, and they'd expect him to be vivacious and vociferous and very intense, and he would capture them because he was the complete opposite. He would talk and teach in a low kind of a tone, in a way that you had to listen."
Compare this to the media attention from other star athletes, Reggie White set a standard that all athletes should follow. It is good when the mike is placed in front of the athlete to "Thank God" but is better to let the world see how you honor God off the court or the field like Reggie White.

Newspapers used to distribute Bibles

For RHEMA's website (www.RHEMAmedia.net), today's top story is on the Bible Society using a major newspaper on the west coast of the United States to distribute New Testaments copies of the Bible.
Of course, from RHEMA Media point of view, the effort is to be applauded. However, some citizens of other beliefs found it offensive.

2 Shocking & 2 Spiritual News

In today's news posted this morning to www.RHEMAmedia.net, there were two shocking and yet two spiritual news.
The shocking ones involve parents. Sad to say, one woman cut off the arm of her child. She believe she was following the Bible - very sad situation. Then, the next shocking news was the arrest and charges placed against parents in New Zealand who decided wanted their baby healed through prayer. The baby died. Now, New Zealand authorities have brought charges against the parents. Cetainly, these parents are in need of our prayers.
In the spiritual news, first, there is a new type of email - "spiritual spam". Now, depending on your perspective, this will be a good or a bad thing. The last spiritual news is a Christmas card for Jesus. A very nice gesture designed for the season.

Christians Too Silent About "Christ" Removal From Christmas

In todays news and even on last night ABC's nightly news, there are reports about "Christ" name being replaced in Christmas songs.
Where are the Christian willing to stand up for the name of Christ?!
Again, just like the apostles in the book of Acts, the "powers that be" ordered that Christ name should not be used while preaching or during public speaking. Now, there are factions that going to court and to the "powers that be" to remove the mention of Christ from Christmas!
At Easter, every Christian will extol the sacrifice of Christ for us. To preserve the memory of his sacrifice, now is the time for all Christian to declare that "Christ" name will not be removed.

Arkansas Woman Killed in Mistaken Rapture
by Elroy Willis-ARKANSAS CITY (EAP) --
A Little Rock woman was killed yesterday after leaping through her moving car's sunroof during an incident best described as a "mistaken rapture" by dozens of eye-witnesses.Thirteen other people were injured after a twenty-car pile-up resulted from people trying to avoid hitting the woman, who was apparently convinced that the rapture was occurring when she saw twelve people floating up into the air, and then passed a man on the side of the roadwho she believed was Jesus."She started screaming `He's back! He's back!' and climbed out throughthe sunroof and jumped off the roof of the car," said Everet Williams, husband of 28-year-old Georgann Williams who was pronounced dead at the scene."I was slowing down but she wouldn't wait till I stopped," Williams said. She thought the rapture was happening and was convinced that Jesuswas gonna lift her up into the sky," he went on to say."This is the strangest thing I've seen since I've been on the force,"said Paul Madison, first officer on the scene.Madison questioned the man who looked like Jesus and discovered that hewas on his way to a toga costume party, when the tarp covering the bedof his pickup truck came loose and released twelve blow-up sex dollsfilled with helium, which then floated up into the sky. Ernie Jenkins, 32, of Fort Smith, who's been told by several of hisfriends that he looks like Jesus, pulled over and lifted his arms intothe air in frustration and said "Come back," just as the Williams' carpassed him, and Mrs. Williams was sure that it was Jesus lifting people up into heaven as they drove by him."I think my wife loved Jesus more than she loved me," the widower said when asked why his wife would do such a thing.When asked for comments about the twelve sex dolls, Jenkins replied "This is all just too weird for me. I never expected anything like this to happen."

Now onto today's commentary - TWO CRAZY THINGS
Who would have to thought that Christians would get arrested for protesting (freedom of speech) against homosexual behavior? Yet, this is the case for 11 Philadelphia Christians. How crazy can things get?
